Shenzhen Airport HUB-China Customs Assistance

Under the pandemic impact, global aviation hubs have seen air freights decreasing, but Shenzhen Bao’an Airport saw its cargo throughput totalling 213,000 tons for the first half year, up 14.5% year-on-year, with June’s international freights increased by more than 50%, according to Shenzhen Customs statistics.

Enjoying customs supports, Shenzhen Bao’an Airport serves as the hub for importing and exporting anti-epidemic supplies, at most 6.65 million items clearing customs in one day. Shenzhen Customs opened a 7*24hr fast track for anti-epidemic supplies at the Airport to help foreign airlines take delivery, releasing at most 134 batches daily.

The Airport Customs House helps airlines’ inbound and outbound freights by such measures as fast registration, direct loading after landing, expedite quarantine, and 5 additional freight routes with 600 chartered flights, so as to recover the air freights by 95%. The Customs House also increased daily maximal international freight capacity from 400 tons to 1,700 tons.

Further, Shenzhen Bao’an Airport is also implementing a series of new measures to facilitate foreign trade, including cross-border e-commerce bonded import, intensive meat inspection, electronic industrial-chain flight, seaport-airport integration, and multi-modal transport of Australian milk powder. Accordingly, Shenzhen Customs helps build the Airport into an international air logistics hub by diversifying cross-border trade chains, in order to ensure international supply of electronic products, foods, pharmaceuticals, etc.
